Brais is originally from Spain but has lived in Germany, the UK, and USA for the past 20 years. Because of his research in Latin American culture, he has traveled extensively both in Latin America and the rest of the world and am multilingual. He speaks Spanish, Galician, Portuguese, English, German, and has an intermediate level of French. In addition, when he is not writing or teaching and mentoring, he is a very avid gardener and road biker.

Jill works as a NYS public school counselor, college consultant, and adjunct instructor at a local SUNY University. Previously, she worked for a boutique test prep company helping students prepare for SAT and ACT exams. Jill’s young energy coupled with her depth and breadth of experience in college admissions enable her to provide exceptional coaching and counseling. She takes a warm yet demanding approach, building relationships with students and families to help them navigate the college process. Jill prides herself in her ability to connect with her students. When she is not working with students, Jill enjoys running, cooking, and walking her dog, Shea.

Johnnae is so happy for the opportunity to serve you! A fun fact about herself: she has a dog named Jet and he is the most energetic little being. She is super passionate in helping students succeed and she has experience in English materials and she can assist in a number of things but her biggest passion is editing and would be elated to mentor/teach students.

Randi is so excited to be on this journey with you! Who is she? She is someone who LOVES learning! She loves helping others learn (16+ years as a teacher) & she loves being a learner as well. Her goal is to help others become learning lovers by tapping into what is appropriate & engaging. She believes building foundational skills & teaching children HOW to do things & figuring them out is invaluable. Building on strengths & prior knowledge is so helpful.

Heather spent her career in higher education mentoring and guiding student-athletes in life and career choices. Watching them grow within the 4-5 years she had them, was one of the greatest joys of my life. She loves to travel and wanted to spend more time going places and seeing new things, so decided to take an early retirement from coaching in May. Her experience in the college arena and specifically in the mentoring department has definitely proven to her this is something she would like to do long term on a part time basis. She would love to continue to connect with students and their families, particularly as they navigate choices in their lives that will lead to growth and success at the next level. According to Heather, her greatest strength is her ability to make connections with young people and empower them to move beyond hardships and obstacles to create the life they dream of.

Amanda loves photography and animals! She enjoys helping students learn about themselves and what career path they should take. Her passion is helping others. She says that working with students of all ages has been a great experience for her. She also enjoys helping people learn English. She appreciates diversity and other cultures. She also loves helping students reach their goals!

Denise is a big city girl, who loves the comforts of southern living. She started her journey helping women and children as a student at Iowa State University. She has a passion for helping others discover their potential as they navigate everyday life. She has the great opportunity to be a stay-at home mom while pursuing MOMprenuerial endeavors. Her hobbies include dancing, theatre, DIY projects and whipping up family-friendly yet healthful recipes.

Nadia believes in “reaching” students to establish the roots for long-lasting learning and growth. She has taught science, math, and literacy across the globe – from Kenya to Thailand to the United States for a total of 9 years.Through her coursework and post-graduation experiences, she has been working with students of all learning abilities from grades 4-12. She also earned the D.T. Stallings Award in 2015 for excellent rapport and long lasting relationships with students. Fun Fact: Nadia has a wacky dream of becoming the hybrid of Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin!

Jacqlyn is an energetic and fun teacher who’s passion is passing on knowledge to students! Teaching is her favorite activity, followed by performing in a music duo, and creating visual art on her iPad or from random things around her country cottage. She currently teaches online English before she goes to her day job as a music teacher, and sometimes after school, she goes and performs music professionally. She is usually found preparing lessons or practicing playing the guitar. The most joy she finds in daily life is watching her students’ abilities transform from beginner to mastery.

Harry is an experienced tutor with 6 years of teaching schoolers math. He puts a heavy emphasis on getting to know his students, so he can show them how the subject can be relevant to their passions. Math is a high interest of his, and he believes that making it easier to understand for others is significantly rewarding. He prioritises his students’ success and makes sure to help them achieve their academic goals.

Writing for beginners. As a writing tutor based in Philadelphia, Katherine has been working since 2015 with aspiring writers. She works with adults who are just starting to write, who may never have learned grammar rules and want to build confidence and learn new skills. Katherine has experience with non-native speakers (both kids and adults) and can help English-language learners pinpoint their weaknesses and edit their own work. With kids, she has worked for many years in after-school programming and museums to encourage literacy and a love of writing.

Zurab is a great teacher, he knows a lot and can answer more advanced questions or more basic questions whatever you need. He has a lot of patience and is always ready to stay extra time if you need it. I highly recommend him!
